Arrest Made In Shooting Of 4-Year-Old Philadelphia Boy

Olney – Philadelphia Police have charged a 23-year-old man with the shooting of a 4-year-old child that occurred Saturday.

Officials said Jerrod Miner was taken into custody by Philadelphia Police on Saturday at approximately 10:15 P.M. He was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Possession Instrument of Crime, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Violation of Uniform Firearms Act-No License and Violation of Uniform Firearms Act-On Streets.

The arrest came after Philidelphia Police responded to the 5500 block of North 4th Street for reports of a shooting.

Arriving officers found a 4-year-old male child shot once in the hip.

He was transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center by police and is currently listed in stable condition.

Officials said Miner was playing with the children in the home when a gun went off.
