Philly Cops Charge Man In Murder Of Pregnant Woman And Her Baby Boy

Philadelphia Police have made an arrest in connection to last Friday’s murder of a pregnant woman and her child.

Authorities said 21-year-old Razique Bumpas was arrested on Monday, February 24th, 2020, for the West Dauphin Street shooting.  

The incident occurred on Friday, February 21st, 2020 at approximately 5:55 P.M., when police, already at Temple University Hospital for an unrelated matter, observed a Chevrolet Van enter the emergency room with shooting victims. 

The first victim, a 39-year-old pregnant woman, later identified as Ishan Charmidah Rahman, was suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.  She was pronounced deceased on arrival.  

Doctors attempted to save the woman’s baby boy by performing an emergency C-Section, however, the baby succumbed shortly after his mother.

The driver of the van, a 40-year-old Hispanic man who was suffering from gunshot wounds to the chest and the left shoulder was listed in critical condition at last report.

Bumpas has been charged with the (2) Counts of Criminal Conspiracy, (2) Counts of Possession Instrument of Crime, (2) Counts of Recklessly Endangering Another Person, Murder, Robbery, Violation of Uniform Firearms Act-No License, Violation of Uniform Firearms Act-On Streets and First Degree Murder-Unborn Child.
