Police: Two Charged In Connection With Lehigh Valley Mall Robbery, Both Armed

Whitehall Township, PA. – The Whitehall Township Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred in Lehigh Valley Mall parking lot, Chief Michael Marks said Friday.

Marks said At around 2:46 pm on Thursday, February 13, 2020; Whitehall Township Police Officers responded for a report of an armed robbery that was in progress at the Lehigh Valley Mall in front of the Pocono Brewery.

Upon the arrival of patrol units, four individuals were initially taken into custody. Two of those individuals, both armed with handguns, were identified as Darwin Sandoval and Rufino Guerrero De La Rosa, said Marks.

Detectives preliminarily determined that some of the parties involved in the incident were acquainted with one another. After a lengthy investigation, and with assistance from the community, investigators pieced together information that lead to charging Darwin Sandoval, age 29, of Allentown, and Rufino Guerrero De La Rosa, age 32, also of Allentown, said Marks. The charges filed were Robbery-Threat of Serious Injury. Theft by Unlawful Taking, Simple Assault, and Conspiracy.

Also at the scene, Whitehall Police took into custody Isiah Middleton, age 22, of Catasauqua, for an outstanding robbery warrant that was filed by the Allentown Police Department.
