Philly Police Charge Suspect In Love Park Rape

Philadelphia Police arrested Quindell Campbell, 23, was arrested in his North Philadelphia home on Wednesday.

Campbell has been charged with rape, sexual assault, aggravated assault, and related charges, said Philadelphia Police Special Victims Unit Captain Mark Burgmann at a Thursday morning press conference.

On January 25, 2020, at approximately 5:20 AM, the victim, a 41-year-old woman, cutting through Love Park, located at 1500 JFK Boulevard, on her way to work.

As she entered the park the woman was allegedly approached by Campbell from behind and punched, knocking her to the ground before he sexually assaulting her, according to police.

When the victim screamed for help an unknown person called police. When police arrived the suspect fled and jumped from the SEPTA 15th Street Station ledge down to the concourse where he fled on foot in an unknown direction.
