Philly FBI, Police Searching For Bank Robbery Suspect

The FBI/PPD Violent Crimes Task Force is seeking the public’s assistance to identify and locate the subject responsible for the robbery today of the Republic Bank branch located at 833 Chestnut Street.

Police said on February 5, 2020 at approximately 3:38 p.m., the subject entered the bank, approached the counter, and presented a threatening demand note to a teller. After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the subject fled the area of the bank on foot. He was last seen heading east on Chestnut.

The subject is described as a black male, average build. He was wearing a black jacket, black knit gloves, black mask, black shoes, and a black winter hat with furry ear flaps. His skin and/or clothes may have red stains on them.

This subject is considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information about this robbery or this subject is urged to call the FBI/PPD Violent Crimes Task Force at 215-418-4000.

A reward is being offered for information leading to this subject’s capture; tipsters can remain anonymous.
